Theory of Jenga

B from Canada came over last weekend, after spending some time in Italy. We decided to showcase some of the British country side and headed off to North Wales, gambling on decent October weather and looking for some good hikes. Saturday was so-so, with a little rain here or there. Did not go for a long excessive hike, but rather went for an afternoon stroll to check out a nice waterfall near the coast. As proof, here is one of B's first jumping photo - nice pose!

Saturday evening we had booked ourselves into Idwal Cottage, apparently one of the oldest hostels in the country. At least for the purpose of simply housing hikers. Played Jenga in the evening and got reasonably far with the game. This movie was taken close to where we thought the game would end, yet it lasted almost 10 more minutes ... :

Anyway, so after that little evening entertainment, the next day turned out to be gorgeous beyond belief. Wales is normally home to rain and frost and generally miserable weather, but the rain and generally miserably weather had gone on holiday and it was merely a little chilly. Went for a long extensive day hike with some excellent views in many directions, scaling three peaks in the process. Here are just some general impressions of the scenes around:
