Last weekend we had two visitors from America who we hosted for a few days during their studies in the UK. After one evening in Bedford, we took them hiking to the Manifold valley in the peak district:
The weather did not really cooperate, and it was raining quite a lot when we initially go to the campsite. However, rather than calling off the plan, we gave everybody a pair of waterproofs and proceeded to pitch our tent.

Breakfast was cooked by our guests, who made excellent pancakes on our little trangia stove:
On Sunday, we decided against another soggy walk and instead explored Calke Abbey, another one of these grand houses (this one is full of stuffed birds). Here they had various kinds of lamb, those for inside and those for outside enjoyment:
