We went to Colorado last week for a bit of a fall holiday. C is there for a conference, and so we took the opportunity to meet up with some friends from Halifax who live in Boulder. A few days were spent at their cabin near the Rocky Mountain National Park, and doing hikes at altitude. It was very refreshing to just get up various mountain sides and have the wind and weather take all your stress away - literally.
Our favourite vistas generally involved the east face of Longs peak (centre), whether it's with Mt Meeker (left, that's more or less right 'above' A&R's cabin) ...
... or whether it's focussed on the famous East face (called 'diamond') or whether it was looking up at the East face from right underneath it.

Some of the locals ... We also saw an eagle soaring close-by for a minute or so, but he did not want to have his picture taken and disappeared.
