Of course G+J had not been to Berlin previously, so we had a great time doing a few of the most important sights. These included some of the wall sights, a full day walking tour (http://www.brewersberlintours.com/, don't be scared by the colours, the tour is actually really good), a tour of the "Schloss Charlottenhof" - the site of the Potsdam Conference, and of course a big pre-Xmas family dinner. Two birds were devoured for that.
Not many great pictures from my part, but it was pointed out that this sign on the East Side Gallery is somewhat out of place:
Here you have a gallery of images painted by artists who are happy about the fall of the Berlin wall, the related freedom and the artistic background given by the vast emptiness of the wall's eastern side, and then there is this sign suggesting that you will be prosecuted (i.e. "unfreed") for touching these images...
